THis weekend was New Mexico Millitary Institues Homecoming. Jason and I got all dressed up for the first time in a long time and went to a dinner/dance! What a treat it was to get to spend the evening together bringing back old memories of the days gone by!

The men at church had a pumpkin chunckin contest. They were to get groups together and build a non-machine contraption that would launch a pumpkin. The guys spend a lot of time on theirs, getting stuff from dads junk yard. Needless to say all that time really did not pay off, the simplest launcher did the best, a huge sling shot. But after a while the guys tried putting a couple of the contraptions together, and that made a good show, throwing a pumpkin almost 100 yards! Its was fun and they had a great time doing it!

Jonas' belly does not usually look like this. He broke out in this HORRIBLE rash last week, covering his whole body (this is a mild stage). He looked like he belonged in a text book. Poor baby, but it didnt seem to bother him too much, just tore mom and dad up...and every one else who saw it.

I think Jonas is plotting something here. Watch out Maddox!

So Jasons sister Darcy is dating a guy who is a pilot of F-16s in the Air Force. He was deployed 4 months ago to Guam. We had the opportunity to go and meet him when he and 300 other soldiers returned home to their families at Canon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM. It was an expierence of a lifetime and we had never even met this guy!

Ahhhhhhhhh, it was so emotional watching all these couple and families reunite. It brought tears to my eyes and I didnt know a single one. You gain alot of respect for these people staying home waiting for their signifcant others to come back. Spending all this time watching the kids and just waiting.....and praying. I cannot imagine how hard that must be. But to see all the little kids and their excitment was a great experience! So glad we were able to share it with them!

Darcy and her boyfriend Jason, finally reunited! It is a little strange that his name is Jason too, and they met on a blind date also (for those of you who know our story) Could make things a little complicated if they get any more serious!

Birthday Party Fun!

These boys had so much fun. There is something about parenthood that I am really enjoying and that is just sitting back and watching your kids (and your husband) have a really great time playing with other kids at a b-day party! Especially when they have such great things to entertain them with , like pony rides and jumperos!

There is nothing more in this world, right now, that Jakes loves to do, than to color and draw! He is going to be one artistic kid, I tell ya. Makes us so proud. the two things he loves most, drawing and TV!!! ha

This boy thinks he is the coolest thing now that he can walk! He is so cute to walk. Right now Jake really takes advantage of the fact that he is faster than Jonas, but I look forward to the day that they can just chase eachother around....I am sure that will only be fun for me for a while! haha Oh the things you regret you wished for down the road.

New Mexico State Fair 9-15-07

It was a day of hot hot sun! Starting the day off at the Albuquerque Zoo and then venturing to the State Fair. You cant beat it, overpriced food, sun, overpriced rides, massive amounts of people, more sun, colorful, spinning, body josteling manuevers,even more sun, and the priceless look on your sons face as he zigzags on a dragon, buzzes in the air on a bubble bee, and takes a birds eye view on the ferris wheel (just to name a few).

So us adults had to have a little fun too. What a way to end our exhausting day! The Sling Shot! 200 ft in the air, 100 mph, 6 G's, and an adreneline rush like you have never felt before! Jared and I decided that we were going to brave this wild ride. While standing in line, Dad and Jessica decided to join us....yep mom and Jason watched the boys (CHICKENS). Your heart is racing a mile a second while they harness you in to this metal capsule. Sitting there hearing all the springs prepping themselves and the gears grinding, you anticipate the release.....and then when you least expect it POW, you are shot straight up into the air, reaching for the clouds...or just screaming your lungs out. Falling back down face first and flipping and truning, you dont want it to end. My love for rollercoasters has gone to a new level......what a rush!

This was the first thing Jake had to do! He had to stand in line for like 20 mins...poor kid he was so antsy! And he doesnt weigh a whole lot so it was really tough for him to jump very high, but he loved it.

Albuquerque Zoo 9-15-07

Jonas looking down at us as we try to coax him towards the slide. So there was this really great jungle gym for the kids to play in. Jake took off and was all over the place in it, and Jonas was just dying to go. Being that it was really just for the kiddoes we worried about letting him loose in there. Well we did, and he was a little monkey in there. Fearless I could say. The only way out, if you didnt back track was to go down this slide. We could not get Jonas to get to the slide, so needless to say Jason had to climb up in there and send Jonas whooshing down the slide. Jas was just looking for an excuse to climb around with the kids.

Jake was dying to ride the camel! Jas and Jake both claimed it was a really comfy ride. Guess it had to have been for all those egyptians to take journeies through the desert. There was a lady in front of us who got all dressed up in egyptian garb to take a picture for a relative that loved camels. I think that was the only reason they came to the zoo. Bet they never fooled that family member, thinking they were actually in the hot deserts of egypt! WIERD It was a toasty day in New Mexico Giraffes are my favorite. these two had cleaned every leaf off these branches but were trying to get more.

Jonas is trying to get closer to the polar bear! Jonas loved playing with Grandads hair! Scary to think this huge mountain lion could meet us up in the mountains of Ruidoso, just an hour away!

9-17-07 Jake's first day of school!!! He was so excited to go to his 3 year old class at Noah's Ark. He just kept saying "I so excited to go to school!!" It has been going pretty good even though the excitement comes and goes. the second week would started saying he didnt want to go to school around dinner time the night before. So it is taking a lot of coaching and encouraging words these days. He has a great time when he gets there, has a lot of new friends and is learning so much......but it is the getting there that wears us all out these day!!
